This position will be responsible to:

  • Ensure all customers are notified of vessel arrival to avoid demurrage charges

  • Identifying service contract accounts and coordinating benefits of contracts

    with terminals, i.e. extension of free time.

  • Ensure all CMA CGM’s requirements are met prior to release of cargo, i.e. obl received, ocean freight has been paid, and customs is released prior to releasing cargo.

  • Check bill of lading logs daily to check for releases.

  • Monitor the terminal system to ensure edi releases are properly downloaded timely.

  • Understanding of respective port release procedures.

  • Understanding of Government holds so no cargo is released while on a hold resulting in a customs fine.

  • Placing cargo on hold at ports where CMA CGM bills demurrage to keep any cargo from leaving prior to CMA CGM receiving demurrage charges.

  • Create demurrage billing for respective ports requiring collection.

  • AMS customs reconciliation for cargo that has not cleared customs for transfer to

    U.S. Government bonded warehouse.

  • Monitor cargo not fully released for long staying cargo at the terminals and rail facilities beyond the last free day.

  • Preparing files for claims on cargo not fully released and idling over 30 days.

  • Reconciling AMS reports for any clearance Other duties as assigned.

Skill Sets / Education & Experience Requirements:

  • discrepancies which could result in a U.S. Customs fine.

  • High School Diploma required.

  • Steamship or Transportation experience desired.

  • Good people and communication skills.

  • Proactive attitude to problem solving.

  • Ability to work with basic Excel, Word, PowerPoint,

  • Good analytical skills.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be available to work 8:30am-5:30pm, Mon-Fri

Skill Sets / Education & Experience Preferred:

  • College degree preferred.

  • Steamship or Transportation experience desired.

Prefer that internal applicants have experience working in LARA, MIRA, Internet, E-mail and Terminal Websites
