Job Description:

Ferguson Enterprises is seeking a PMO Specialist to join the Ferguson IT Team in its Newport News-based Tech Center. As a PMO Specialist, you'll contribute to the Ferguson Project Delivery team by providing expertise in Process Management & Governance, Demand Management, Quality Control, and Toolset System Administration.

Roles and Responsibilities of the PMO Specialist include:

Process Management & Governance


  • Establish and maintain standards / processes / procedures

  • Lead the Project Delivery Governance team whose goal is to ensure continuous improvement of Project Delivery through analysis and implementation of strategic ideas

Training (PPM toolset)

  • OWN the process

  • Assist in creating documentation and job aids

  • Provide training to new/existing users upon request

  • Effectively communicate new toolset upgrades/changes to ensure continuing education

  • Answer questions regarding toolset usage

  • Investigate strategies and options to improve the process and resolve issues


  • Provide needed reporting for high level leaders across IT

  • Train Service Owners to generate and maintain their reporting for individual needs

Demand Management

  • Coordinate with Service Management Organization (SMO) to adhere to the process for capturing, evaluating, and prioritizing demand; including Service Catalog / Offerings

  • Assist Service Owners with demand impacts (e.g., Business Cases, Roadmaps)

  • Coordinate with Finance to ensure financial estimates (CapEx, OpEx) are being captured for “forecasted” demand – including budget reforecasting

Quality Control

  • Ensure quality data is entered into the PPM toolset and adheres to the defined policy

  • Help identify similar or overlapping work across the portfolio to reduce duplicate efforts and relate dependent projects

  • Coordinate with Technology Business Management (TBM) for maintaining Financial data integration (e.g., Apptio feed); as well as Resource Management input

Toolset System Admin

  • User maintenance – set-up, removal, changes

  • Security – admin, groups, privileges

  • Templates

  • Views

  • Reports

  • Troubleshooting

  • Vendor management
