Job Description

Rappahannock Community College invites applications for EMS Instructional Assistants in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program.

The EMS instructional assistant will serve as a supplemental instructor in the classroom and lab setting. This position is responsible for coordinating with the Instructor and/or EMS program head for delivery and evaluation of required practical skills in the laboratory classroom setting; assisting with setup and breakdown of equipment and supplies; observe, evaluate, and document student performance on the skills covered in a particular lesson. Flexible hours, based on course level and course schedule to include daytime, evening, and Saturday hours available on both the Warsaw and Glenns campuses. This is a part time position with no benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated competency in all areas of EMS patient assessment and both BLS and ALS skills performance; EMT-Intermediate and Healthcare Provider CPR; considerable work or volunteer experience as an ALS provider.

Preferred Qualifications

NREMT-Paramedic/Healthcare Provider CPR, VEMSES Instructor or NAEMSE Instructor, certifications (instructor preferred) in BLS, ACLS, PHTLS, ITLS, PALS, PEPP and/or other related courses.
