SAIC has a contingent job opportunity for a Data Center Manager to support Military Sealift Command (MSC). This position is contingent upon contract award and located in Virginia Beach, VA.
The Data Center (DC) Manager/Production Support will manage the DC team members and coordinate work efforts with other IPT teams including Logisticts Help Desk, Systems Administration, Database Engineering, and Software Deployment, for successful performance consistent with contractual agreements. Lead planning and implementation of policies, programs, and services related to Data Center services. Serve as the IT technical project lead/task manager and assist with systems implementation. Manage day-to-day operations and work with IT operations in incident management, change management, and problem management. Collaborate with the IT team on infrastructure devices hardening guidelines, policies, configuration standards, and best practices for the network. Review policy and procedures and ensure all IT systems and services remain in compliance with agency, policies, and guidelines. Analyze existing operations and suggest improvement and growth of the Data Center infrastructure and IT systems. Conduct research and remain current with the latest technologies and solutions in support of procurement efforts. Research and identify state-of-the-art technologies that could enhance IT operations, services, and performance of systems and components. Support acquisition of Data Center hardware, software, equipment, and supplies to meet operational requirements. Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for devices in Data center. Assist with the execution of the disaster recovery plan when a business or IT operations disruption occurs. Develop and implement technical innovations to improve the reliability and performance of network connections and servers, which is a distributed architecture with users and systems at multiple sites. Lead program efforts to maintain a proactive, effective, and compliant cyber and application security posture. Ensure compliance with industry best practice as well as Federal and Department of State information system security requirements, Acts as a lead for junior and mid-level staff; leads and mentors direct report(s) to grow the leadership team on the project. Works closely with customer(s) and team to ensure open and regular communication, both written and oral. Develops, implements and manages project schedule and budget to meet contractual requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's MIS, CS, Math or related
Ten (10) years’ technical experience directly related to software/system development of which seven (7) related to the implementation and maintenance of management information systems and or software intensive systems. Education Requirement identified above can be used as contributing part of the general experience.
Shall have, within the general experience requirement, five (5) years specialized experience that includes: system development from with emphasis on the functions they are qualifying as a SME. Specific experience may have been gained concurrently with General Experience.
