Project Intern will be working on:
GHP2 Scrap reduction and tracking
Project Description and Objective (Include what the Intern will be learning): Assist plant industrial engineering department in monitoring, tracking, and reduction of GHP2 scrap by using lean/six sigma methodologies. Intern will prepare daily, weekly, monthly scrap reports to identify key areas for improvement. Intern will be mentored by six sigma black belt to improve key metrics highlighted by report tracking.
Outcome of Project (Goals of what the intern should accomplish): Goal is to reduce scrap in the GHP2 value stream form current level of 6% of sales to target goal of 3.67% of sales. (Intern will be responsible for the daily, weekly, monthly scrap reporting and identification of key areas of improvement.
Requirements: Student must be currently enrolled in college/university working towards their bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably mechanical.
