Job Description: Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our team in support of the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS) Long Term Modernization and Sustainment Program (LTM&S). Raytheon is supporting a USAF customer contract for delivering technical support to customer management and providing resources for the technical services required to enable customer mission accomplishment. In support of the customer’s strategic direction, Raytheon is looking for key individuals who can support the development of new and innovative technologies and techniques. An expert in database analysis and development is needed to support the customer team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Define, design, implement, and maintains databases and conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Advise customers on issues regarding full life cycle of data from design to production to maintenance, and including conversion, migration, translation, and data quality assurance. Assess customer requirements, evaluate alternatives, and develop recommendations. Responsible for all activities related to the administration of computerized databases. Advises and assists customer on establishing and implementing administrative policies and procedures on technical problems, on priorities, and on methods. Projects long-range requirements for database administration in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function as well as business function managers. Applies communication, analytic and problem-solving skills to identify, communicate and resolve issues . Maintains current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned Participates in special projects as required Required Skills: Candidates must be a US Citizen and hold an active DoD Secret Security Clearance. Understanding of industry standard database development and architecture tools Demonstrated ability to manage engineering teams Solid understanding of a broad range of database systems (Oracle, Sybase, MySQL) Solid understanding of software testing methodologies Proficiency with MS Office Applications Must be able to work collaboratively across agencies and physical locations Demonstrated ability with Virtualization Technologies: VMware ESXi, VMware Workstation, Desirable Skills: 10 years+ systems database analysis experience Experience supporting Intelligence and/or DoD Customers Experience with: Java, REST, HTML, Angular Java script, Struts, Tomcat, Apache, JBuilder, Visual Studio, Spring, Hibernate, CVS, Mercurial, Oracle Weblogic Server Experience with database development Experience with database architecture and design Experience with process development and deployment Demonstrated ability to work with previously written code and make modifications as necessary Demonstrated ability to work closely with other disciplines (systems, networking, IS, configuration management, and test engineers) to troubleshoot and fix problems Excellent writing skills Required Education (including Major): Bachelor of Science Degree with major in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Science or related field.
